The Quintessential Highland Escape

Cairn Valley wraps up all the elements of a classic Highland retreat. Ruggedly romantic, this is the cosy bothy updated for the 21st century in style and luxury.

Inspiration for Cairn Valley was provided by Scottish writer John Buchan, and the wild Scottish landscapes that his heroes knew so well. Heathery tweeds and the colours of a stormy Highland sky are the backdrop for luxurious furnishings and contemporary comforts. The separate, light-filled garden room makes a perfect inside/outside retreat whatever the weather. We imagined it as the ideal spot to start penning your own Highland adventure novel.

This is a cottage for those who appreciate the quiet life. We've packed the place with books - as well as board games, bird watching guides and binoculars. Sit back with a dram and a good book in front of a roaring fire or soak your troubles away in our decadent freestanding bathtub which looks out to the birch wood behind the cottage.

In the bedroom is a supremely comfortable superking bed which you'll want to sink into after a day outdoors. We've added the finest Hungarian goose down pillows and quilts, wrapped in 800 thread count luxury bedlinens for a beautiful night's sleep. Your en-suite shower room has an invigorating rain shower, whilst above the bedroom is the mezzanine bathroom with its freestanding tub.

Immerse yourself in the Highland landscape which looks just as it did a century ago. There are window seats in the living room and bedroom from which you can watch the visiting birds and other native wildlife. Antlers adorn the walls both inside and out - a nod to the Rothiemurchus deer herd who are your closest neighbours at the bottom of the track that leads to the cottage.

All aboard!
